The Ecstasy of Mother Teresa or Agnes Bojaxhiu Superstar
How did a simple Albanian nun named Agnes Bojaxhiu, who was moved by the suffering of the poor and believed in the beautiful idea of the healing power of touch, become Mother Teresa, Catholic fundamentalist superstar? Contentious, probing, disquieting, iconoclastic, theatrical, The Ecstasy of Mother Teresa of Agnes Bojaxhiu Superstar poses uncomfortable questions and seeks complicated answers.
The Ecstasy of Mother Teresa was created for the 2009 SummerWorks Theatre Festival, August 6 16. It received a first reading as a part of the Festival of Ideas and Creation at Canadian Stage.
